Chapter Eleven

Payback Lasts Forever

The eight hour party in St. Croix was fun filled and well organized. From tug-of-war games to water gun fights, everything was light skin versus dark skin. It was one of the biggest barbeques ever and the food was delicious. There was enough food to feed the entire island.

During the party, Taleshia had to reveal to her cousin Jaccara and her best friend Ronisha the reason behind the dark purple bruise in the center of her chest and why she had a busted blood vessel on her eyeball.

Both Ronisha and Jaccara had had enough of the so-called man Taleshia was caught up with. But the only thing they were able to do at the moment was listen in great distaste while Taleshia spun her wheels explaining the same situation they’d heard on many occasions. Nothing was changing. It was like Jaccara and Ronisha were watching the same show over, and over, and over. Even a dog will run from an abusive owner so they couldn’t figure out what was stopping Taleshia.

“When are you going to get enough of that bastard, Taleshia?” Jaccara asked bluntly.

“I’ve had enough right now. I don’t want to go to prison, but that nigga needs to be killed,” Taleshia whispered.

Both Jaccara and Ronisha got quiet. Never had they thought that far or to such a serious extent. All they wanted was for Taleshia to leave him. Death was definitely out of the question. But curiosity always fueled conversation.

“How?” Ronisha asked.

“How what?” Taleshia countered.

“You know, how would you kill him?” Ronisha continued.

“I don’t know, girl. I was thinking about finding some poison or something.”

Jaccara and Ronisha looked at Taleshia like she was insane.

“Taleshia, bitch, don’t you watch Snapped on the Oxygen channel?” Jaccara asked. “Or Forensic Files on HLN?”

Taleshia looked confused.

“Your ass will definitely go to jail once they find out he was poisoned,” Jaccara said excitedly.

“I didn’t say I had it all planned out. All I said is that he needs to die.”

Again, the trio got as quiet as a courtroom during deliberation. The subject was too intense for them. Finally, they changed the subject and nothing more was said about the death plot of Malachi.

Hours later, back on the ship, Ronisha was getting out of the shower, preparing to execute a plan she had single-handedly concocted without informing Taleshia or Jaccara. She looked at her worn but sexy frame in the mirror. Baby oil was her next step, so she drenched herself in it, covering every inch of her skin. The shine seemed to entice. No panties or bra were required for this plan. She slipped on a big t-shirt that draped over her, falling just above her knees. She grabbed her room key and set out to find her destination.

After a twenty minute stroll and two vodka Crime of Passion cocktails, she stood at the room door of someone who was soon to become a victim of a crime of passion. The vodka had reached its mark. She was a notch
